Gyotaku Blackfish Tee
100% Cotton - Carbon Neutral Shipping - Compostable Packaging
Gyotaku, the Japanese method of printing fish, was used by fisherman to record their catches since the mid-1800s. This shirt is a replication of a gyotaku we made from a 6.5lb blackfish taken from Long Island waters by spear this fall. After printing, this fish was enjoyed by friends and family in a classic October blackfish cookout.
With the purchase of this tee, 5 oysters will be planted back into our local waters. All oyster planting is facilitated through The Moriches Bay Project.
