What is a Sea Wolf?
Along the remote Pacific Northwest coast of Canada lives a remarkable population of grey wolves known as sea wolves. Unlike their forest-dwelling relatives, these wolves have adapted to a marine lifestyle—swimming between islands, hunting fish, and scavenging along the rocky shoreline.
Scientists have found that up to 90% of a sea wolf’s diet comes directly from the ocean. They feast on salmon runs, dig for clams, and even scavenge washed-up whales. Agile in the water and resourceful on land, they embody the spirit of resilience and adaptability.
To the coastal communities that know them, sea wolves are symbols of mystery and strength—true silent hunters of the sea, moving fluidly between worlds and thriving where land meets ocean.

Our ocean supports all life on Earth and we can not survive without it. We are working hard to counteract the effect of human development and pollution in our Northeastern waters. By restoring oyster reefs, we can help prevent coastal erosion, marine habitat loss, and massive fish kills due to eutrophication. Click here to learn more about our bay restoration mission.
