How Little Fish is Helping Keep Our Beaches Clean

Posted by Kasey Chockalingam on

Through partnership with Relic’s Coastal Collaborative Program, Little Fish helps provide resources for a community-driven trash mitigation program.

Relic’s Coastal Collaborative is a community-driven initiative dedicated to reducing coastal pollution. By providing beachgoers with 100% recycled plastic baskets, we empower individuals to take an active role in keeping our beaches free of debris.

This program thrives thanks to the support of local businesses, whose sponsorship enables us to expand our reach and provide the resources needed to sustain these efforts. Partnering with municipal governments, motivated community members, and our incredible sponsors, we’re building a unified effort to preserve and protect our coastlines for future generations.

Little Fish, just steps from Kenney’s Beach in Southold, opened in Spring 2023 with a fresh, vibrant take on locally inspired seafood. Led by the team behind Montauk’s 668 The Gig Shack, it quickly became a North Fork favorite, offering live music, a laid-back yet refined atmosphere, and a rotating menu that highlights the best of Long Island’s coastal bounty—from daily catches to inventive, flavor-packed dishes.

Starting in October 2023, Little Fish committed to the health of our coastlines by sponsoring a beach cleanup station at Kenney's Beach in Southold. Their support ensures that the station remains available 365 days a year, encouraging year-round voluntary cleanup efforts.

Beyond supporting Relic’s Coastal Collaborative Program, sustainability is woven into Little Fish’s operations. The restaurant prioritizes locally sourced seafood & produce, reducing environmental impact and supporting local fisheries. They also focus on minimal-waste initiatives, including compostable packaging and eco-conscious materials. Little Fish is involved with a variety of sustainable partnerships, collaborating with organizations that promote responsible fishing, regenerative farming, and coastal conservation.

By combining exceptional food with a deep respect for the environment, Little Fish embodies the spirit of sustainability—ensuring that Long Island's coastal beauty and culinary traditions thrive for generations to come.
